The pool was spotless, though it’s a short 50 m walk uphill to get there. The place is in a peaceful spot away from the main routes, with only a few shops nearby. There’s a bakery, butcher and small supermarket about 200 m away on foot. From the outside the building doesn’t look like much, but inside it’s nicely presented. No air conditioning, just fans. The listing mentions a balcony, but what it calls a balcony is really part of the staircase leading in. Also budget €10 for each towel and €10 per bed for the linen.

The scenery around Bergerac and Issigeac is incredible, and stopping at the riverside cafes by the castles is a must. There are trails stretching as far as you can see for mountain biking or trail running if you’re more active. We spent 10 days in the house above Fabrice’s shop, and the bakery smells would wake us in the morning. Then we’d head up the little street to the pool through our VIP entrance 🫣. For my first stay in Western France, away from the Alpine passes and Ardèche gorges, we felt right at home. The property was beautiful and the hosts were incredible. It took me a while to write this, but I mean every word. Thank you, Didier and Fabrice. Hope to see you soon 🙏🏽🤩
