Appartement ARC 2000

We had the apartment meant for 8-10 people with five of us, and it felt spacious; seven or eight would have been fine too, though ten might feel cramped. The views over Arc 1950 are lovely, and there's a handy shop in the complex. The pool and spa were nice, and the apartments are well equipped and very convenient for the slopes. Inside, they could do with an update, and the internet was a bit unreliable. For the price, though, it's a great option. A steam room would be a nice addition.

Everything apart from the internet was fantastic: the sauna, pool, tepid tub, rooms, ski room, and access to the slopes. Chalet Altitude at Les Arcs 2000 is charming and superbly located, and it could easily merit five stars. But the Wi-Fi was a real letdown. In 2025, speeds of 0.3 Mbps on a good day, frequent dropouts, and having to log in again and again are hard to justify. The staff were friendly, but couldn't sort out even basic problems. For instance, they didn't know how to stop an iPhone repeatedly resetting its connection, which can be fixed in the iPhone/iPad Wi-Fi privacy settings by choosing Fixed instead of Revolving. If you need to work remotely or just stay connected, bring an unlimited mobile data plan. I hope management fixes this soon, since it's the one thing holding the chalet back. I hope this helps others decide.

For nine people the room was a reasonable size, though I wouldn't want to fill all twelve spots. The decor could use an update, and the lighting was especially dim in the bedrooms, where it was hard to see. The bigger problem was the nearly constant, heavy wood-smoke smell. We even blocked the chimney vent that was sending smoky air back in, but it still overwhelmed the room and really spoiled our visit. 😑

The bedrooms felt old and dark, and they weren't very clean.
