The room itself was very nice, and the shower was lovely, though you have to hold it up. The local kebab shop is a delight. The rest was awful: the service was disgraceful and the people were terrible. I was told that dirty towels, especially if you stomp on them, could bring a €500 fine. I was shouted at and abused in the office, a random man was over my bed at six in the morning, and unsolicited photos of girls in bed were taken at night. They kept the card owner’s details against my will, and I found the keys in a random box. The room was very cold.

There are no ski lockers at Residence Nova, so you have to keep skis and boots in your flat. Think about that when choosing a flat size. We had a small studio of around 17m2, and having to store the equipment there made it much less comfortable. Getting to the piste means walking up a moderately steep path, then stairs, then another 50 meters through snow to the nearest chairlift. You can expect to be sweating by the time you reach it. The same walk is needed whenever you want to go anywhere in the village. This is not ski-in, ski-out, and for what you get at this price, it didn’t make sense for us. We definitely won’t stay here again.

The only thing this place has going for it is the location, within walking distance of the slopes. The building is very old, and the studio was small, uncomfortable even for two, and not clean. There was barely any room. It was advertised for three people but really only worked for two, so it’s hard to imagine how three could manage in that one cramped room. The smell from the fridge was awful. Honestly, it felt like a joke.

Great central spot in the 1800 resort, close to the shops and about a five-minute walk to the slope, or three if you’re fit. When there’s enough snow, you can ski back.
