We'd stayed here many times over the past year, but last night's visit was disappointing. The hotel was nearly empty, with only three cars in the parking lot, yet we were put in a double room with an adjoining door. The guests next door spent a lot of time trying the door, making plenty of noise, and they had a barking dog with them. There was also a constant smell of cigarette smoke. We expected better. It wasn't a restful night, and with no reception available, we couldn't ask to change rooms. We won't stay again.

The rooms are spacious and clean, but the service put me off. There was no reception from 11 am to 5 pm, and the hotel was almost empty at night. I understand it was recently renovated, but they need to get better organized. The location is okay, about a 10-minute walk from the center of Bourges. After midnight, though, the roads in these areas are completely unlit and get really dark. I don't mind that personally, but I can see why some people would.

We booked because Buffalo Grill is right next door and were keen to get home, so we passed on breakfast, which seemed a little pricey. The hotel was clean, with a modern bathroom and a large shower, and parking was free. Our room at the front had no traffic noise. It's a 10-minute walk into the city. I'd definitely recommend it for a one- or two-night stop.

The hotel's breakfast was a nice surprise, and there's a Buffalo Grill right next door if you're too late to find somewhere in town. The place is clean and works if you haven't planned to visit the town, but it feels dated and needs a lot of repairs and general care.

The rooms are comfortable and clean, but anyone staying for a longer time might want an upgrade. A gym or some other way to pass the time would be nice, instead of having nothing to do but stay in the room.
