ibis budget Bourges

Breakfast was well worth having, with fruit, cereal, bread, waffles, pastries, juice, and hot drinks. Our room was clean and comfortable, with aircon and toiletries, and the bathroom was clean with a very good shower. Check-in was easy and we got a warm welcome. We’d tried a different budget hotel here earlier in the year, and I’m glad we gave the Ibis a try instead, it was far superior. We’ll definitely use the Ibis again on future trips through the area.

The check-in receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was fine for a night, with several plugs and a shower that wasn’t as small as ones we’ve had at other hotels. Both the hotel and parking felt very safe.

We slept well and the hotel’s location was good. Cleanliness was hard to fault, but the room was very warm. After I set the rather weak air conditioning to a lower temperature, it took a few hours to cool down. We had fresh food with us and were surprised the room had no fridge, unlike rooms in the Novotel opposite. I also hadn’t realized there was no elevator, so carrying our heavy suitcases up to the top floor was tricky.

The rooms are basic but clean, and worked well for a short stopover. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is amazing value. It’s a little out of the way, but not too hard to find.
