Les Volets Bleus - Refaits à neuf, deux appartements et un studio, Jardin

We were really happy with our stay and would gladly come back to Bourges. A big, friendly white cat even came to greet us at the door. The apartment is near the city centre, in a half-timbered house I had always hoped to stay in. You only see the original half-timbering from outside, but inside the studio is thoughtfully laid out, with a living area, full kitchen and a large bathroom. Little lamps make the living room feel warm and cosy, and both it and the bathroom have excellent heating. Hot and cold water were no problem. The kitchen had an induction hob, microwave, coffee maker and kettle, plus dishes, cutlery and assorted cups. There was also a hairdryer, TV and good, fast Wi-Fi. Everything worked perfectly. Late arrival was easy thanks to the small key boxes beside the front door. There’s no private parking, but we found a space on the street right outside. It’s in a blue zone, free on Saturdays and Sundays.

The studio is beautifully laid out for a pleasant stay, and there’s a lovely shaded garden area. It’s also close to the city centre. Parking can be hard to find. The way up to the studio is a very narrow, steep staircase, so it isn’t suitable for people with mobility difficulties.

The apartment itself is very good. Getting to it is less pleasant, as the access is unmaintained and the stairs are very steep.

The apartment was spotless and the decor was superb. We were welcomed so warmly, we’ll be back!
