The town was lively, and we found a good bakery for a filled baguette and cakes to take along for the next part of our journey. We also had a really enjoyable dinner and breakfast, with friendly, welcoming staff throughout our stopover. We’d happily stay here again.

There’s a lot of interesting history in town, especially the German occupation and the Canadian action against the Germans. Local people and Canadians fought hard. We had a lovely dinner too: exquisite oysters, foie gras, duck and beef, all delicious. The young woman who served us was great and a credit to the hotel. We had a lovely dinner and breakfast before setting off on the rest of our journey. The room was clean and had everything we needed, and secure parking meant we could leave things in the car overnight. The hotel has an eclectic mix of decor and facilities. The owners made us feel so welcome, spoke good English and were forgiving of our pigeon French! This was our second year staying here at the start of our annual French holiday. Hopefully we’ll be back next year, and I’d certainly recommend it.

They moved us to quieter rooms because of the music festival, and our meal was great. Such a charming, friendly welcome, and a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I’d recommend it.

A good meal and a decent breakfast at a reasonable price. It’s a welcoming, no-frills traditional French hotel in an attractive little town, and I’d go back.
