Bouzies is stunning, with rocky cliffs above the river, and the views right outside my room were incredible. I picked this little hotel pretty randomly because it wasn’t too far from the A20 on my way south to the Pyrenees, and the whole area amazed me. My room faced outside. It was basic but clean and perfectly serviceable, and the staff were so welcoming. I had slow-cooked beef at the excellent restaurant, then enjoyed the interesting walk along the towpath. The bridge takes a bit of nerve to cross, though it’s just wide enough for modern cars. There’s parking round the back in a really photogenic spot. Keep going past the signed public car park. I’ll be back!

We came for a meal and were greeted by a very cheerful maître d’, who made us feel welcome. The food was good, and there were lovely views over the Lot.

The nature around the hotel is spectacular and ideal for a hike. My room was a little impractical, but it was clean and had good beds. The staff were so kind and helpful that they deserve more than five stars. Thanks for a very good stay. I’ll definitely come back.

The spot is truly beautiful, and we reached it by boat. The people running the hotel restaurant were really nice and helpful, but the meal was disappointing. My veal was mostly fat and gristle, the lamb quality seemed questionable, and the “beef” burgers had no flavor. We wondered if they might have been veggie burgers. We also got the wrong drinks from the bar and had already sipped them before they were taken back. Then they seemed to turn up at another table. If you’re arriving by boat, cook dinner for yourselves!

The rooms were clean, and the beds and pillows were super comfy. The staff were friendly and spoke several languages, and the place felt like a real gem. There was a beautiful view, plus a relaxing pool and lounge area. The restaurant food was tasty and affordable too. Such a nice hotel, I’d love to come back 🫶🏼
