We had a spacious, very clean family room, and the staff were helpful. The breakfast was great for children and had lots of options. It's well placed for the waterfront and a visit to the castle. The pay car park opposite is very expensive, though that's nothing to do with the hotel.

The location and breakfast were the only good parts of our three-night stay at the start of October. I'm glad to have left that pokey room behind; it completely spoilt our holiday. It felt like a prison cell: no bathroom, no sink plug, no kettle and no pictures on the walls. There was nowhere to hang clothes for three nights. By the tiny desk there was no chair, just a hard plastic stool, and the TV was mounted too low. I wish we'd only had to spend one night in that HELL!!!

The place is cheap but badly built. The room light didn't work, the shower leaked, and there was no soundproofing at all.

Brest is a lovely old fishing town, with plenty of fish restaurants. The homemade fish soup was lovely.
