Hôtel Mont-Brison

The staff were warm and especially welcoming to families, and it’s a lovely spot for walking into the old town and around Briançon. For an overnight stop, we had a lot of useful extras for the price: private parking, soap and shampoo, family rooms, TVs and WiFi. I’d choose this over a chain hotel and would happily stay again.

The gondola is only about 200-250m away, with plenty of restaurants nearby, so the location worked really well. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our rooms were on the small side, but clean, with comfortable beds and recently redone, very nice bathrooms. Breakfast was a good continental spread, and the WiFi was decent.

We stopped for one night while passing through with three motorcyclists, and the safe, gated motorcycle parking was a big plus. There was space for several other groups too. The rooms were clean, comfortable and fairly quiet. Breakfast was average but had what we needed. It’s a good base for a stopover or a couple of days enjoying the scenery, and we’ll stay here again.

My fourth-floor room had a balcony overlooking the mountains, and the hotel was clean, tidy and well located. It had what I’d expect from a two-star place. The bathroom felt cramped, and the shower temperature kept changing a lot without warning.
