The apartment was clean when we checked out, and I have photos to show it. We’d cleaned everything thoroughly and left it in very good condition during our trip to the Serre Chalavier. Even so, the hotel kept our deposit and charged us 110 EUR. They said it was because one person used the toilet during the checkout inspection, so the toilet could no longer be considered clean. That’s unreasonable and feels like an excuse to keep the deposit. Using the toilet at checkout is normal and doesn’t mean the apartment is dirty. While cleaning, we found dust that was already there when we arrived, along with things from previous guests: flip-flops, a charger, and a toiletry bag. The apartment hadn’t been properly cleaned before our stay. Future guests should be careful and take photos and videos of everything, since you could lose your deposit for illogical reasons. After this unfair treatment, I can’t recommend the place.

The location is the one thing going for it. The rooms are old, poorly equipped, and the place needs renovation. The toilet smelled, and cleanliness throughout was mediocre. It feels more like a dorm than proper tourist accommodation. I won’t be back.

The rooms are very small, and the building is old and due for renovation. When we arrived, the toilet smelled unpleasant, and the bed, pillow, and “duvet” were uncomfortable and dusty. The duvet was really just an old, thin blanket. On the plus side, the hotel is very close to the ski lift, and each room has a small kitchenette that’s fairly well equipped.

There weren’t enough chairs for the beds, just four for six people, and there was no bathroom ventilation. Storage was lacking too, with no shelves for clothes or personal things. The place was fairly clean and modest, and right by the ski lift. Some apartments only have a small microwave instead of a proper oven.

The appliances were already a problem: the vacuum cleaner didn’t work, and two of the four induction rings were unusable. The dishwasher was broken too. We still spent our last night cleaning because we expected complaints about the mess, but when we left today they charged my friends and me 80€ for the apartment supposedly not being clean. Wouldn’t recommend.
