SOWELL HÔTELS Le Parc & SPA

I was touring around Europe and stayed here for a couple of days. The rooms are small but nice, the staff are lovely, and breakfast was great. We’d definitely come back.

The staff were fantastic, and parking was good and free. The spa was okay. The bathroom was showing its age, and the bed was uncomfortable.

The food was fine, with different choices each night. Some dishes were good and some weren’t, while the puddings were generally good. There’s a bar, but it seems to take up the seating, so there isn’t much room to sit or much atmosphere. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The rooms were adequate, with very comfortable beds, though the odd pillows took getting used to. The toilet and bathroom are separate, which is a good idea. There’s little space for clothes, just a wardrobe and a few shelves, so we lived out of our suitcases most of the week. Since most guests are probably skiing, more room to store and dry clothes would help. For some reason, the wall sockets were covered, leaving only two usable ones, so charging phones and devices away from the bed was a nuisance. It’s not a bad hotel, and it’s good enough for food and rest.

After a long day cycling, we were glad the swimming pool was available. The room was comfortable and well equipped, and we could store our bikes. Dinner was a very good buffet, with three hot dishes plus salads and desserts. The earlier you arrive, the warmer the food and the more choice there is. The wine with dinner was fine, and breakfast had a good enough selection too.
