Hotel Les Gourmets

A good balance of price, value and location.

The good part is the reasonable price for staying in a beautiful ski area. The 25-minute gondola ride didn't bother us. But this place is terrible, and you really shouldn't book it. The apartment sits above a disco that stays open until 2 a.m. most days. Even with earplugs, it's hard to sleep. It's small, badly outdated, has no windows at eye level or view, and no private balcony. The roof terrace is dangerously rotten. The place is dirty and smells bad, and in some apartments you can barely stand up straight. The village is a faded gem. I don't think this can be rented out in good conscience.

The owners are arrogant and full of themselves. They let themselves into the apartment without permission and automatically reject any comments you make. Good luck to anyone who tries it. The residence is dirty and run down, and hard to access. The stairs have very high, uneven steps. The apartment had barely any supplies, stained walls and a dusty carpet. The toilet was dirty and scaled, and the sheets and towels were yellowish. There's a nice restaurant below the apartments, but it holds karaoke twice a week, which is very annoying for residents.

The owner was really friendly and helpful, and the place was good value, fairly well located, with parking out front. But the restaurant downstairs got very noisy, especially during organized events, despite the owner's repeated requests. I didn't find it very suited to a spa guest looking to relax. Renovations are planned between the off-season.
