Hôtel Aster

We always stop here on the way back from holiday, and the restaurant is excellent. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable. I highly recommend the steak tartare, one of the best I've had. There's also a lovely garden to see, and don't miss the gift shop in the arcade opposite.

The people at reception were kind, and I liked the place and its surroundings. The renovated room and its price were appealing. But when I was leaving in the morning, I found out breakfast cost 12€. I usually just have two juices and a croissant, so that felt like a rip-off. If it had been included in the room price, or the room had cost a little more to cover it, the price would still have been good. I skipped breakfast today. Without this issue, I would have given five stars.

For the price, this is a nice place to stay. The staff are friendly and professional, with service on par with a four star hotel. I found the restaurant decent, and I ate meat. The double room felt cozy and was just the right size for one person. Checkout was quick since the receipt was already printed, so I could pay and leave without wasting time. People leaving negative reviews should remember this isn't a five star hotel and appreciate what they get for the price. A couple of things could be better: the bed linen wasn't dirty, but it wasn't especially clean either, and the bathroom floor gets very slippery when you step out of the shower ⚠️⚠️⚠️

We stayed here for one night with my family. The rooms and bathrooms had been newly renovated and were extremely clean. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, especially the receptionist on duty on the morning of 23rd December. Thank you for all your help and kind words, they meant a lot to us ❤️
