The room was clean, but its thin mattress meant none of us slept very well. We also found dinner disappointing, all four of us. The chef has an impressive résumé, so we’d expected a wonderful meal, but several dishes were oily or needed more salt or flavor. The tuna sashimi had so many tendons it was impossible to cut, and the amuse-bouche was just a small cup of tepid tomato juice, which was sad. We did really enjoy the lovely setting and spa, especially the Jacuzzi and infrared sauna. With so many good reviews, maybe the chef was simply having an off night.

We had Christmas lunch here, and it was an unforgettable experience. The food was wonderful and the staff were simply amazing. A must-visit food destination in France. Five stars.
