Domaine de Cicé-Blossac

I love the spa and swimming pool, and the restaurant was decent. It’s a nice, quiet place. The first time I stayed, our room had a lake view and was so nice; I came back the following week and liked the room, though it wasn’t as nice as the first one. Still, it’s a good place.

Breakfast had a good range of choices, and the rooms were clean and tidy. The starters we had at the restaurant, Croque Monsieur and the Charcuterie board, were excellent. The chicken Caesar salad was a letdown, though. At that price I expected a freshly cooked, warm chicken breast, but the chicken was cold. Also, after one person showered, there wasn’t any hot water left for the next person.

The restaurant was excellent and the room was very comfortable. We had a very pleasant stay, with just one small downside: we had to drive everywhere instead of walking. I’d recommend it to friends who are fine with staying outside the center of Rennes.

There was no one at reception to deal with the music from the neighboring room, which blared until 5am. Our parking spot wasn’t covered, so it got very hot. The rooms are spacious, but dark and rather bleak. The pool was closed, and the website didn’t mention that when I checked, so call ahead. The nearest shop is about 1.5km away; it’s a good supermarket, but there aren’t many places to eat within walking distance.
