There were too many men hanging around doing things that seemed suspicious, and I didn't feel very safe. I won't stay again, even though it's cheaper than other places.

We left without staying because the place and the people around it didn't feel safe. Outside the rooms, people were hanging around on balconies by the front doors, smoking drugs, drinking, and getting rowdy. Some were arguing and fighting. There were cigarette butts and glass alcohol bottles everywhere, and very few cameras around the hotel or car park. Seeing the area and entering the room made us uncomfortable. The room was outdated, felt dirty, and smelled dirty. It looked nothing like the pictures. The property is tucked behind the Campanile, and check-in is at the Campanile reception next door. There were notes in French but no clear signs otherwise. When we checked in, nobody asked for passports or ID. We saw groups arrive, park away from reception, book a room for one or two people, then all go into the same room. My partner went back to the Campanile reception and spoke to a woman, who walked off saying she didn't understand. Another man came over. We were told we get what we paid for. It was cheap, but people still pay to have somewhere to stay for the night. We couldn't see any staff by the building at the rear to keep an eye on what was happening. We didn't stay, and they refused to give us any money back. This was an awful experience.

We paid at the low end and got a basic room. The heating worked well, and it was okay for an overnight stop. There aren't any amenities nearby, but it did the job.

The people working there were lovely, but the shower was hanging loose in room 317 and the sink looks like it could come off the wall any day. A little maintenance would keep this place in good shape.
