The location is beautiful, but the gite itself was a terrible experience and poor value. We had asked for a different place, but it was booked, so we were given gite 9 for a week. It had three bedrooms and was far too large for our group of three. The pool was freezing at 19C, with bugs and mold, and the promised barbecue was rusty and moldy, with no tools. The so-called terrace was just the area by the front door, with a plastic table and no privacy. Wi-Fi was extremely slow and only available at the dark, dirty barn they called the 'club house', which had a ping pong table. The furniture was cheap, old and uncomfortable throughout. The beds felt like sleeping on tile, most were mattresses on frames, and one squeaked so badly it was almost unusable. The bedside tables were plastic crates with glaring lamps that made it impossible to read beside someone else. The couch was hideous and sagged about two feet under you. By the end of the week, all of us had backaches, including my 7 year old daughter. The bedrooms also lacked proper drawers, an easy way to hang clothes, and mirrors apart from one small bathroom mirror. The kitchen had no proper chopping knives or larger utensils, and the chopping board was about the size of my palm. There was no salt, pepper, oil, herbs, spices or even a dish towel. Towels and sheets weren't included in the price, and cleaning cost an extra 50 euros. The bathroom and heating weren't mentioned by us, but the rest of the accommodation was enough to leave us hugely disappointed and angry. The owners told me they had been building up their holdings in the village for 10 years and owned at least 10 properties there. They drive BMWs and own small planes, yet our gite was furnished so cheaply and nastily. It felt like greed and stinginess, with no care for guests' comfort, and like the property had been misrepresented. I felt ripped off. I hope this helps other families avoid the same experience.

Everything felt like it had been left in its original state, and we were extremely disappointed. The bathroom was outdated, the heating didn't work, and the shower hose leaked. There was dust and spiders under the bed, and no Wi-Fi. The reception was mediocre and far from welcoming. The comfort didn't match the advertised amenities. They charged €15 for a dog, and €14 for sheets, when you can buy them at Gifi for €10. There weren't any bins either. Really not great. The owners seemed more interested in "getting high" in their ultralight aircraft.

The website photos need updating because the place looked nothing like them. We were disappointed with the awful condition of the swimming pool and pétanque court. One bedroom had no curtains or shutters, so getting the children to sleep was difficult. We could have used a ground-floor bedroom, but it was locked.

We really enjoyed being surrounded by nature and staying somewhere you can take in the stars. The cottages had what we needed for a good time with friends and family, and our hosts were so welcoming.
