I had to leave with my wife and son. The winding staircase was more than I could manage, and the bedrooms were dingy and run-down. The toilet door wouldn't close, so the room felt uninhabitable. They advertised a bar, but there wasn't one. I feel sorry for the guy running it. At least he charged us for just one room instead of two. That's the best I can say.

Cabourg is a lovely city, and the beach is only about 6 minutes away by car and well maintained. The hotel is truly rustic, though still has TV, Wi-Fi and hot water in the shower. It’s quite affordable if you want to stay in the centre. Your call 🙂

There was plenty of space, and everything was very clean. They made us feel welcome, and breakfast was a lovely French-style spread. Thanks for a great stay.

I think some of the comments here are pretty harsh. If you want a 4-star hotel, book one. People are quick to criticize and rarely show appreciation. Both rooms were very, very clean, and the breakfast was pleasant. The hotel is well located, clean and two-star. What a treat to have a real conversation with the owner, a book lover and former bookseller. Human connections like that feel rare. Thank you to the owner for such a warm welcome.
