Le Val De Durance

Travelers with off-road campers that have roof tents aren't wanted at this campground, and no alternative was offered. Poor service. We don't recommend it.

We booked through Homair as two families in separate caravans, and we’ll never stay here or book with them again. The caravan we got was old, worn out and falling apart, with a leaking air conditioning unit. The accommodation shown on the campsite website isn’t what most guests get: there seemed to be only about five of those caravans, while roughly 200 others were old 1980s models. The site was packed, with a tiny pool and loud music adding to the chaos. The lake swimming area was small too, and shared with lots of visitors from outside the campsite. Staff were so unhelpful that we were afraid to go to the bar after their rudeness. One tall, long-haired man with a beard was particularly obnoxious and made my 14-year-old daughter cry. Avoid this place.

We visited in June and found it a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

The waterslides are the one saving grace here. The campsite is scruffy and dated, and the bar staff were rude and impatient, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. We complained to reception and the Director, but she wouldn’t give us her name or look at us, and spoke only through someone else. Our main problem was being refused the option to pay €95 for cleaning. We were told we should have paid on arrival, but nobody had mentioned it then. The mobile home was tiny, old, dirty, smelly and in poor repair. The terrace boards were uneven and broken, the toilet moved, and there was a gaping hole where the cooker should have been. It’s such a shame, because this could be a nice little family place. This ruined a holiday we’d waited so long for and took away all the joy. I won’t return or use Homair again. I doubt anyone at the company who cares will read this, just as the site Director didn’t care. Shame on you, Homair.
