City Affaire - Hotel de Ville Caen

The apartment was new, very clean, and well looked after. We liked how easy self check-in was, with clear instructions. The area is peaceful and close to Caen’s lovely town hall and city center. We had a lovely stay, and would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

The best part of the stay was finding fresh bread and a croissant in the mailbox between 7 and 8 in the morning. The apartment is right in the heart of Caen, at the foot of the abbey, on a very quiet street. We got all the key collection details by email after booking. The bed was comfortable, the small kitchen was functional, and everything was impeccably clean. Parking can occasionally be hard to find. The breakfast drinks could perhaps be more plentiful for two, though coffee and tea are unlimited. Neither will stop us booking here again on our next Caen visit!

The apartment hadn't been properly cleaned, and the Wi-Fi was out for three days with no fix. The coffee machine was broken and kept heating even after I switched it off. It was in a basement, with poor insulation, especially in the bathroom. There was no bedroom window, and the only window facing the street had tinted glass but no curtains.

With my children, we were delighted, and leaving was almost painful. The apartment felt like home, with really good bedding and everything we needed. It was close to all amenities, and the host replied very quickly on WhatsApp. Check-in and check-out were fully self-service, which was a real plus when arriving late. The kitchen had an induction hob, kettle, coffee maker, and microwave. The host had stocked the fridge with milk, fruit juice, butter, and jam. Nothing to complain about.
