La Maison Du Pêcheur

We were really happy with the room and the good kitchen, and the view was lovely. The street has plenty going on, though the beach isn’t good. We’d have liked slightly softer towels and two duvets. Otherwise, we’re very satisfied.

The location is excellent, but we had issues with everything else. Communication with the owner was poor, there was no Wi-Fi, and cleanliness was lacking. We stayed 11 nights, yet our bed linen and towels were never changed.

The seafront setting is stunning, and the place was clean, but that’s where the positives end. Our ground-floor apartment was tiny, with no closet or drawers for even the basic things two people need. The kitchen was missing a knife that could cut properly. It’s hard to understand how, just 40 km from the Italian border, there wasn’t a single Italian channel available to search for. There was no Netflix or cable TV either. The garden furniture was neglected, and there wasn’t even an umbrella to give some shade.

We’ve stayed here several times and keep coming back for the easy access and check-in, the seafront location, and the nice little restaurants nearby. There’s also a market on Tuesdays and Thursdays just a short walk away. The apartment is very well equipped, though the cleaning felt rushed this time. The main issue is the bed in the sea-view apartment. It’s too small and really uncomfortable. Apart from that, everything is great.
