The location is actually good, the guy at check-in was nice and laid back, and the beds were pretty comfortable. The place had Wi-Fi too. The toilets were a real problem, though. I travelled from Poland to Calais and had seen much better toilet conditions on the train. The toilet here was literally flooded. It was kind of dirty, but I honestly didn’t care much. We’d been awake for over 14 hours, waiting for a ferry the next morning, and I got some good sleep. I’d say it works if you’re stuck in Calais for one night and just need shut-eye. Thank God we caught the ferry to Dover and weren’t stuck in Calais any longer.

I booked online at the last minute, but we walked in and left straight away without staying. Luckily, my family was still in the car. The rooms looked nothing like the listing, and the smell of cigarette smoke was awful. When I opened the door, wallpaper was peeling, there were cigarette burns everywhere, and I saw mold. I didn’t think a place like this could be booked through booking.com.

It’s one of the cheapest hotels in Calais, close to the ferry dock. I paid 45€ and got a room with a working TV and a clean bed. The guy at reception even offered to secure my bike in their garage, and the staff were very friendly. The downsides were black mold in the shower and stains all over the carpet. If you desperately need somewhere to crash for a night, I guess you could do worse.

The booking website showed a rate of 32 euros per night. But when I booked and arrived, the employee cancelled the reservation and asked me to pay 55 euros cash for one night. Also, the bathrooms were extremely narrow, disgusting and very cold.
