Having a kettle in the room was a real bonus. It was the only hotel on our trip that had one, and we enjoyed a few much appreciated cups of tea. The central location and plenty of gated parking were convenient in such a tight spot. Our room was a decent size, though music from nearby bars and the DJ carried on until around 1am, as advertised. There was no shower curtain over the bath, so water spread across the glossy floor tiles and made it dangerously slippery. Breakfast wasn’t included as a hotel meal, you went to the ground-floor cafe and paid menu prices, which weren’t cheap. The whole town felt expensive, but it was still well worth a visit.

Alexandra at reception was especially helpful and charming, and the breakfast buffet was great, so don’t miss the cheese. There’s a free car park, and Calvi center is a short walk along the beach. The beach is just across the train tracks, with a train stop right beside the hotel and some nice bars on the beach. Rooms are small but clean, and some have astonishing views of Calvi castle and the bay. For a place labelled three stars, this hotel is definitely above that rating.

We booked half pension for a week, with breakfast and dinner included. Dinner was excellent, good quality and an original three-course meal, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and professional. Our room was comfortable, clean, and quiet, though it was small and faced the sea across a small road. Sea-side rooms are larger, so choose one if you want more space. The hotel is close to the sea, and its Marco Plage beach was very good. A quiet, comfortable place overall.

Prices are very reasonable here. It’s right behind the beach, and the hotel has a beach club or works with one called Marco Plage. Breakfast is very good, and there’s an espresso machine in the room, which matters!

Great views, a good menu, attractive decor, and friendly staff. The location is handy too, almost on the beach, about five minutes on foot from the city, three minutes from a supermarket, and with a small train stop right outside. Oddly, the regular rooms, unlike the suites, don’t have a little fridge.
