The hotel has spacious rooms, great views and a nice pool, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Breakfast has a good selection, and the price seems average for the island, pretty fair for what’s offered. Still, I found the fridge rule unpleasant and unnecessary. There’s a warning saying outside food and drinks aren’t allowed in the room fridge, with extra charges and locked access as consequences. I understand the mini bar prices are reasonable, nearly the same as convenience stores, but guests may also want fresh fruit in the afternoon or wine and cheese on a quiet balcony. Please don’t enforce this as a rule. People can still buy from the reasonable mini bar, and I’m sure the hotel would get the better reviews it deserves. Thank you.

The location and view may be good, but they don’t make up for how upsetting our stay became. I rarely leave a negative review, but future guests should know what happened. While we were out, the manager entered our room and threw away personal belongings, including my stomach medication and food I’d brought for health reasons. These were properly stored supplies, not perishable items left carelessly, and there had been no warning or communication beforehand. When I tried to ask what had happened, he yelled at and harassed my girlfriend. There was no apology or calm explanation, just behavior I found aggressive, intimidating and unprofessional. Apparently, the hotel has internal rules against eating or drinking anything in the room, even coffee. These unusual restrictions weren’t clearly explained at booking or check-in, or prominently posted in the room in any language. If we’d known, we would have complied or chosen somewhere more suitable. Instead, management invaded our privacy, discarded our belongings, including medication, and confronted us hostilely. That treatment isn’t acceptable in a hotel. I’m sharing this so others can make an informed choice about the atmosphere they want during a stay in Calvi.

We left two cycling bottles at reception when we checked in. When we came back after noticing, the owner said he’d thrown them away to teach us not to leave our belongings behind. A rude man with no customer tact.

Reception and bar staff were super friendly and accommodating, and the outdoor pool was very clean. The hotel is close to the citadelle and center, with an outdoor parking spot for our motorcycles. Our room was clean, though the bathroom had a shower curtain. There can also be a peculiar smell depending on the wind direction. We’d be happy to come back.
