Logis Hôtel & Restaurant La Villa Bleue

I never got to experience the hotel itself, which is a shame. I booked directly instead of using Booking, as I normally do. Since I’d never been there before, the email got buried, and when it was time to go I couldn’t find where we were staying. I assumed, as with every other hotel I’ve booked, that I’d get a reminder. There was no email, text, or call to ask where I was. I only saw a charge on my credit card. When I contacted them, I said I understood being charged for one night, but questioned why they charged more than one when they hadn’t even tried to find out where I was. They said they could have filled the room because there was demand. I don’t know the rules for hotels and booking systems, but charging a no-show for multiple nights without making any effort to contact them seems very unscrupulous.

The bites ruined a good part of our holiday. We were itchy for more than a week and ended up seeing a doctor for anti-histamine injections. My partner and I each had about 80 bites, with allergic reactions and blisters. We stayed at this hotel in early august, and it turned out our room or bed was infested with bedbugs (en français: punaises). We noticed a few spots of blood on the bed in the morning, but didn’t think much of it until our bodies started reacting about 12 hours later. We called the hotel, and all they said was that they didn’t know about it. Judging by how many bites we got, it didn’t seem like there was only one.

Really good atmosphere.
