We used a Smartbox voucher for one night and felt we were given a lower standard of room. Room 17 was in poor condition. The entrance door was stiff and took a lot of force to open, and paint was peeling in several spots. There was just one old wooden bedside table. We had to ask for another so we could each have one, which should have been the bare minimum. There were two electrical outlets: one had a broken plastic cover and the other was partly torn out, which felt unsafe. The bathroom was outdated, and getting hot water to stay steady was extremely difficult, with the temperature constantly swinging between hot and cold. It's a real shame that the owners treat Smartbox guests this way. We won't be back to this hotel, voucher or no voucher.

The room was very dated and didn't look like the online photos. We found out the hotel was being renovated and asked to move rooms, but never got an answer. Staff were friendly, but the manager was incompetent. It seemed more important to deal with a group restaurant booking than with hotel guests. We were put in the breakfast area, where we were completely ignored in silence. After eating, we decided to go home and leave the hotel. We still had an hour and a half of driving ahead, and even after we returned the key card, nobody had found a solution for our room. Not even an apology. Shameful.

The staff were so welcoming, and the room was spotless and really quiet. They seem to have thought of everything, from parking, a restaurant and an elevator to braille numbers on the doors. I highly recommend it.
