Htel de la Pointe du Grouin

My wife and I enjoyed ourselves here twice in just a few days, and we'll certainly come back. Madame Simon, the owner, is lovely and makes sure guests have a great dining experience. The service was wonderful, the menu had plenty of choice, and the food quality was extremely high. I'm French and live in the US, and I'm pretty demanding about both food and service. Without exaggerating, “La Pointe du Groin” is one of the best places I've eaten. If you're after a Brittany meal in a beautiful setting, with excellent food and service, I'd highly recommend “la Pointe du Groin”.

The beds were very comfortable, but one of the windows couldn't be opened and the decor felt dated. The sea view was reasonably good, though part of it was blocked by the building. The location itself is breathtaking, but the hotel seems to charge a lot for it, so the value for money wasn't great. The receptionist came across as somewhat arrogant while explaining how to reach the hotel. The route goes along a one-way street that doesn't indicate the hotel. Restaurant menus were expensive. Breakfast was okay, but the dining area was three rows back rather than right by the sea, and the 9:00-10:30 breakfast slot starts quite late.

The food looked fantastic and tasted just as good, and the location was lovely. We waited a little longer than we'd have liked, though staff shortages could explain that. The staff weren't especially attentive, but they were pleasant.

A cozy place with lovely staff, nice for a family dinner that's well prepared. I would've liked a healthier breakfast too, as there was too much sugary stuff. Eggs, cornflakes and fruit would make for a good start to the day :)
