I’ve been emailing them for several weeks about getting my deposit back. They said they’d sort it out, but now the whole discussion is starting again. Think twice before booking this average hotel. There are plenty of better places to stay.

The shower was decent and the bathrooms had been renovated recently. I can’t say anything about the breakfast, pool, or hot tub since I didn’t use them. We spent five nights at Hotel Gallia during a Riviera tour, and the room was very small. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the beachfront, but it’s scruffy, and the Booking.com pictures shouldn’t fool anyone. The cleanliness and attention to detail were very disappointing. I’ve never stayed in a hotel room so filthy, and complained, which I rarely do. Staff said they’d move us, but never sent or called with instructions for getting the new room key, so we had to stay put. They were generally friendly, smiley, and mostly polite, but communication was poor. Reception closes at 7 or 8pm, and you need a pin code to enter afterward. They changed the code during our stay without telling us. One evening we were stuck outside until another guest came along because no one answered the out-of-hours phone. The room doors were awkward and slammed loudly, with no soft closers. Other guests coming and going woke me more than once, and one cleaner blasted strange music at a ridiculous hour in the morning, waking me too.
The staff were gentle, smiled a lot, and were ready to help. The rooms were clean, though hairs kept getting stuck in the bathtub. The hotel definitely needs renovations. Breakfast was listed at 12,00€/person/day, but the selection was so limited that it looked very poor.
I paid for two nights but was kicked out after the first when I asked why the accommodation was so bad and disrespectful to clients. I came to the hotel at 22.00 and couldn’t get my room keys because the lobby closes after 19. I also refused to pay her 200 euro deposit. The woman working there became aggressive, tried to break my room door, then broke my things, including my laptop, and threw them out. The Cannes police handled everything. I hope she gets real punishment. If you want to stay alive, never choose this hotel!
Our room was in the basement, which felt terribly creepy at night. The bathroom was pretty and renovated, but the room wasn’t very clean. Breakfast cost a lot per person and was only pastries. We had a very unpleasant stay and wouldn’t recommend the hotel. There’s no 24/7 check-in: arriving at 8pm, we spent an hour trying to get inside. The hotel hadn’t messaged to say check-in would close or explain what to do, and didn’t answer my messages. Thankfully, after no email response, we called the number displayed outside, and a staff member kindly explained how to enter and get our keys.
