B&B HOTEL Cannes La Bocca Plage

There was a smell throughout the hotel and in the rooms. The air conditioning wasn’t working and didn’t seem to be maintained. When we arrived, the water cooler was empty, and reception handed me an old bottle when I asked for water.

We’re in room 219 right now, and the conditions are unacceptable. The room was extremely cold when we arrived. The air conditioner controls don’t work, and the unit only blows cold air, making a loud noise across the room. Reception either couldn’t or wouldn’t fix it. They said it “is not working” but ignored the cold air and noise. There are two of us, and we’re not a couple, yet the room had only one bed and one blanket. When I asked for another blanket, one arrived without a cover. There was no drinking water in the room either. This falls far below what any guest should have to expect.

I’ve never stayed in a worse hotel. Our room hadn’t been cleaned, and the code for the underground parking gate kept failing. They gave us three or four codes, but none worked when we tried to open it. The hotel standard is far below European standards. Even campgrounds we’ve stayed in were much cleaner and better run.

The shower was actually good. The rest of our stay was rough. The hotel is in an industrial area, far from central Cannes. Bus A or 1 takes about 30 minutes, and in summer the buses are likely to be crowded, with you standing the whole way. Supermarkets, restaurants and pharmacies are two bus stops away. There are no amenities to speak of: no water, since the machine downstairs doesn’t work, no fridge for groceries, no glasses or cups, no face towels, no hairdryer and no emergency adaptor. When we arrived, the floor was dirty and the toilet paper looked like it had been used by the previous guests. The entrance was extremely dirty too. If you’re reading quickly, consider paying a little more for a better hotel. It’ll be worth it.
