Finding a place in France as an expat can be tough, but Citya helped us through the whole process with friendly, professional service. We rented a lovely three-bedroom apartment in Antibes on a one-year lease, and we’d be happy to work with them again.

My family spent precious time searching for an apartment with them, and things seemed to be going well until the place we were about to sign for was rented to somebody else. What made it worse was that they wouldn’t be honest with us afterward. They call themselves antiracist, but our experience felt racist and nationalist. A dreadful agency that wasted our time, and I can’t even give them the one star they require.

Citya Immobilier in Cannes St Honore kept my apartment on the market for over three months, and I got no updates about visits or their efforts to find tenants. I eventually searched myself to avoid losing more rent and found tenants within a week. When I told the lettings woman, she claimed they had several visits lined up that week. Later, she pointed to their commercial department’s work, including a balcony sign. Neither I nor my neighbours had seen any sign, so I didn’t believe that account. After a couple more calls, we agreed I’d pick up the keys at the agency. The director unexpectedly asked to meet me there and said they’d done their best, along with the usual sales talk. I took the keys and left, then a month later received an invoice for 324 euros for cancelling their services. The lettings woman referred me to the Law Chatel when I questioned the charge, but wouldn’t explain further. I emailed twice more, especially because the fee had never come up in our phone calls or the meeting, and got no response. I never signed anything agreeing to pay if they failed to rent the apartment. I consider the fee arbitrary and illegal, and the way Citya handled this was very unprofessional and seemed designed to rip off landlords.

I have an apartment under their rental management and am very happy with the service.
