Hôtel Le Petit Château

There was feces in the toilet when I arrived, and it hadn’t been cleaned. The room smelled awful, the bathroom was covered in black mold, and the shower wouldn’t drain. Opening the small patio door made it obvious there was a dead animal somewhere nearby. This is easily the most disgusting hotel I’ve stayed in.

We stayed from 20.07.24 to 24.07.24, choosing the hotel because the website showed breakfast included. We wrote to the hotel after our stay and got no reply. The room was filthy, with dust, old hair from previous guests, and ants throughout the bathroom. We asked for a partial refund because the stay fell so far short of what was promised. Breakfast over all four mornings was just a package of dry toast, with no toppings and no way to toast it. The advertised buffet pictures showed bread, cold cuts, juice, yogurt, and more. This was the poorest breakfast experience we’ve had, and not what we expected for an included meal. We hope the hotel takes the complaint seriously and prevents this happening to future guests.

Getting into the hotel takes a code, so make sure you have it before reaching Cannes if you won’t have internet. Self check-in was easy, though I never saw the receptionist. The location is great, near the beach, centre, and station. Breakfast was free, but unlike the picture: just coffee, tea, bread, and butter, as the room information said. Even so, there was no butter left, despite our booking the night before.

The hotel ignored our messages and Booking.com customer service contacts. Our room looked nothing like the Booking.com photos, and it had roaches on the floor, bedbugs, dirty bedding, a dirty room, a strange smell, and no blanket on the other bed. This place should be closed immediately. Avoid it at any cost.
