Elodie at the front desk could have been more empathetic. There was a bed bug issue in one room, which seemed isolated, and the hotel handled it efficiently by arranging a room change promptly.

The room was small but functional, and for a night or two you get what you pay for. Breakfast had a limited choice: croissants, toast, waffles with spreads, butter, cream cheese, yogurt, milk, cereal, ham, and juice from a machine made with concentrate. The parking facilities were good. Reception is at the ibis Budget during the day, then shared with the adjacent ibis Styles at night. That worked well. There’s no fridge in the room, which is awkward with small children, though you can ask to have milk kept in the reception fridge. We were assigned a bunk room, which wasn’t ideal for two adults and a child. I’d stay again for a short trip if price and location were the main concerns.

The man in the lobby was extremely rude. He announced our room number in front of other guests. Since we were two girls travelling alone, we asked if we could move rooms, but he just said he hadn’t done anything wrong. Then he slammed a door in our faces and spoke very loudly to us. There were also old hairs on the shower walls and ceiling. Don’t stay here if you want a pleasant visit to Cannes.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable, thin memory foam over a hard base. I also wasn’t told clearly when booking about the 72 euro deposit, which was described as returnable. It still hadn’t been refunded five days after checkout. Luckily we had the money available, or we wouldn’t have been able to check in. The rest of the stay was positive: friendly staff, good breakfast, and a great location that was easy to find from the train or bus station. Buyer beware.
