Hotel Le Mistral

We were delivering chocolates to Cannes Film Festival and needed something printed at the last minute, plus somewhere to leave our bags until the bus. Jean Michel was incredibly helpful with both, and his English is great. Our room was lovely, the bed very comfortable, the shower fabulous, and the air-con worked well. The secure door entry made us feel safe. If we’re back next year, we’ll stay here again.

The personal service is what I like about small boutique hotels. Big hotels never seem to offer that kind of luxury. The manager was very friendly and professional, met us at the door, and arranged the hotel’s one parking space for our whole stay. He speaks fluent English and Russian. From check-in onward, everything went smoothly. Our room was quiet and very large, at least 20 square meters. It was already cool when we arrived, the air conditioner was running, and even the fridge was on. There’s a small desk, writing tools, a little lounge chair that’s comfortable to sit in, a large wardrobe, and a code-lock safe. Extra blankets and pillows were there too, so it would be comfortable for a longer stay. Blackout curtains let us sleep in. Breakfast was continental and quite sufficient. Cannes is expensive, including hotels, and the location matters a lot here, but it wasn’t the only thing that made this stay good.

The rooms were clean and convenient, and the owner was courteous and humble. Even after we’d checked out, he let us come back for a shower after the beach before collecting our luggage. A great choice for a few relaxing days in Cannes.

The room was small and cosy, and the location is great. Best of all was Jean Michel, who’s in charge of the hotel. He was welcoming, friendly, and very helpful.
