Résidence Cannes Villa Francia

The pool was really nice, and the sea isn’t far from the apartment. The rooms are small, but that was fine since we spent most of our time outside. It was fully equipped with everything you need, and I thought it was very good for the price. I liked the place and can recommend it.

We booked this residence through Booking.com, with maeva managing it, and the stay was a nightmare. For 10 nights, we paid 1,616.10 euros plus 65.62 euros in tourist tax. The issue has since been resolved: after several calls with Booking.com and continued communication with the property, we received a refund. I’m glad that part is settled. We arrived at exactly 5 PM, the stated check-in time, but waited an hour and a half in a hallway with broken chairs. When we asked what was taking so long, the receptionist rudely said, “You paid for the night, not for the day.” We didn’t get our keys until 6:30 PM. The receptionist was unhelpful and treated us like an inconvenience, and the whole complex looked dirty and poorly maintained. The apartment was filthy too. Cleaning staff were still there and said they had “just arrived.” There was hair everywhere, stains on the mattresses and pillows, used towels lying around, and crumbs on the floor and in kitchen drawers. The staff were using old, dirty rags and had no proper cleaning supplies. The utensils were too dirty to use. We had to spend the first night sitting up because the place was too filthy to lie down in. We had our child with us and no other option that late, so the next morning we booked somewhere else rather than stay another night. The room wasn’t as advertised. It was supposed to have been renovated in 2023, but the furniture was old, run-down, and partly broken. The promised bunk bed was an old, dirty bed with a filthy, stained mattress. The listing said Wi-Fi was available for a fee of 39 euros per week, but it was never offered. Toilet paper and soap were missing, and we had to rent bed linens and towels separately, which wasn’t clearly stated in the Booking.com details. When we complained, management claimed we’d arrived too early and left by choice without a valid reason. That wasn’t true: we arrived at check-in time, waited an hour and a half, and left because the conditions were unlivable. They initially refused to refund us. I have pictures of what I described. This disaster ruined our holiday, and I’d strongly advise anyone considering the place to stay far away if they value their money, time, and health.

Getting there from Nice airport is easy enough: the coach is air-conditioned, runs every 30 minutes, and was on time. The setting is peaceful and pretty, with a lovely pool for relaxing. The staff were great, and the hotel itself is fantastic. Having a kitchenette was a real bonus, and you can order from the sushi and pizza menus if you’d rather stay in. It has everything you need for a quiet, laid-back stay.

The pool has a nice view, and it could work for a big family on a budget, but I’d choose somewhere else next time. We had to pay to upgrade because our first room was tiny and had no view. The upgraded room was bigger, with a sea view, though both rooms felt old and weren’t very clean. We tried the hotel restaurant twice and were disappointed both times. The restaurant staff were unfriendly too.
