Residence des Bains

The residence is well located, but there's no reception, and getting the key was a bit of a struggle. We had to wait in a hall. Apartments are equipped differently depending on the owner. The cleaning wasn't perfect, and the finishes in apartment number 4 were worn out, which may explain the few cockroaches we found. We reported them to the owner, who fortunately came to deal with the problem. There are no shutters except in the kitchen, which is surprising. Comfort was really basic for 500 euros a week.

The location is good and the view is beautiful. It has an old-fashioned feel that may or may not have charm. We got a very warm welcome, though the place was a little hard to find. Bring your own towels, sheets, and dish towels. It's an apartment rental, so there aren't hotel services. They don't take bank cards, so bring cash or cheques. Sheets can be rented. I'd come back, with my own towels and dish towels this time.

There was no on-site reception desk, but calling the property manager was all it took. They came to check us in a few moments later. The apartments are a good size, and we had a two-bedroom one. Several units overlook the sea. The residence is a two-minute walk from the causeway and Grève Blanche beach. Parking is free and really convenient since it's hard to park in Carantec during summer. There's also a place to store bikes, plus a pool that's handy when the tide is low. The kitchen has all the essentials, including an oven, induction hob, toaster, kettle, and coffee maker. The beds were comfortable. Sheets aren't included, but you can pay extra for them or bring your own, and you'll need to bring your own towels too. This isn't a hotel. Cleaning costs €30 if you don't want to do it yourself.

It was clean when we arrived, and the view was lovely. The radiators struggled to heat the place when it was windy, and the bathtub wasn't very practical. We weren't sure if some of the cookware would work with the induction hob, so we'll check with the owner when we leave.
