Our balcony looked out toward the old city, and the view was superb. The hotel sits nicely between the old and new cities, with plenty of nearby restaurants for dinner since there’s no restaurant on site. We booked the bed and breakfast deal, and breakfast was splendid. The welcome in the smart reception area was warm and friendly, and after three days our good impression hadn’t changed. The staff were excellent too.

The rooms are modern and thoughtfully designed, and the hotel feels almost brand new. We were so happy here that we extended our stay. It’s well placed between the castle and the new city, and you can walk just about anywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful with activity and restaurant tips; when our air conditioning gave us trouble, they moved us right away. The price felt affordable for a new hotel with these perks. Highly recommend!

Some staff were really nice, while others weren't, so it was a mixed bag. The hotel has no evening restaurant, which would be handy. The hotel next door serves meals, but we didn’t think they were great. Breakfast costs €25 per adult and €15 for kids if it isn’t included in your room, which felt a bit pricey for what you get. More like four stars than five.

We weren’t staying there, just stopped in to get a drink out of the hot sun, but the staff treated us like five star guests. They were amazing and even gave cookies to my three daughters. I rarely leave reviews, but this hotel earned one. Top job!

Update: I disputed the charge with my credit card provider, and they returned the money. I still haven’t heard anything from the hotel. Interesting way to do business. They charged me twice for my stay, and after I reported it two weeks ago, there was still no sign of a refund. Never mind, it’s only €500, no big deal, eh! GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. This hotel is a total shambles. I stay in hotels all the time, and this was one of the worst. Check-in wasn’t available as stated, and there were lots of flies in my room. I’d avoid it. Le Donjon is a better option in Carcassonne.
