We were five women in the family and felt safe in the clean, comfortable apartment. It’s furnished for self-catering, with a washing machine and a terrace among the useful extras. The place looks a little worn, but we’d gladly come back. On rue Trivalle in the old city, it has a view toward the nearby castle, with shops, bakeries, and restaurants all around. Parking was easy, and the host was attentive and helpful. Les Clés de la Cité is a good-value base for seeing Carcassonne.

The rooms were large, modern, and air-conditioned, and we found the apartment quite nice despite a few small flaws that didn’t cause any trouble. It’s very close to the historic center. One hallway did have a slightly damp smell.
