I was about to book two nights in a Prestige room with breakfast and dinner, and called to ask a simple question about the price difference between booking directly and using Booking.com. The prices she gave me were the same. Before I’d even asked about the amount, Mathilde, the receptionist, hurriedly said there could be no negotiation. Her tone was really inappropriate. I told her I was only asking a question and had every right to ask about the price as a customer. She didn’t seem concerned about losing a booking, so I’ll go elsewhere. Such a disappointing experience with customer service.

The only downside was having to leave. We’ll be back at Le Diane. The location was lovely, with beautiful views and the town close by. Staff were wonderful and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel and rooms were very well presented, and the pool was lovely and warm. Breakfast was extensive and really nice. We also tried the tasting menu with wine recommended by the chef. The food was amazing, and the chef knew the menu inside out. Parking in the secure car park was €10, worth it for peace of mind.

The location is very good, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and had all the amenities listed in the description. But they’re not soundproof, and the hotel is getting old. The doors use keys, which add to the noise. Everything also felt quite expensive for the state of the hotel. I’d accidentally booked one room for two people, so I had to get a second room. The partial sea view is clear in my pictures. What disappointed me most was the “experienced” receptionist I was transferred to. She seemed frustrated that I chose a second room at a lower price instead of upgrading to a Junior Suite, which cost three times as much as one room. It would be better to find prompt solutions for guests instead of turning cold when they choose a cheaper option. Also, spa access is free for the whole hotel, so the hamam, jacuzzi, or sauna can get crowded. Time is strictly limited to 45 minutes, which makes it impossible if you have to wait.
