La Respelidane

The view of Mont Ventoux from the terrace, with its Mediterranean herbs, and from one of the rooms was stunning. The location is quiet and beautiful, and Bernard was quick to help when we couldn’t get the shower working. He also gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and shops. The rooms were beautifully furnished and the beds very comfortable. Still, we left after four days with mixed feelings. For the price, there were too many broken things, including missing or loose drawer and shower knobs, and a cheap shower set. The pool seemed to be reluctantly shared; it was quite far away, reached by a long path that went around a lawn we weren’t allowed to use, and swimming was limited to set times. Cars passed on the little country road right in front of the house. There weren’t many, but drivers went fast and aggressively, which seems typical of the area. A nice gîte, but a bit too expensive for what it offers.
