Friendly management, clean air-conditioned rooms, and plenty of shops and restaurants in Carpentras. The old town is a six-minute walk, and there's a nice cafe and a beautiful Catholic church nearby. The hotel is in the heart of town, about two minutes from the train station, with a solarium on the top floor and a breakfast restaurant. It's a good base for visiting towns in the south of France, with many lovely places 30 to 40 minutes away by car. We'd stay here again, but make sure to tell them your arrival time in advance. Check-in and checkout times need attention. They say check-in is available until 12:30, but when the hotel door was shut and staff had left, we had to wait until 16:30. Call ahead to avoid that.

We enjoyed the rooftop terrace after a day of shopping in Carpentras, with a glass of wine and a view. The old town center is only about four minutes away, which is the best thing about the location. The owners describe it as a low-budget, two-star hotel, and that's fair, but it was quite nice. The rooms are small but clean, the service friendly, and breakfast decent for the price.

A friendly host, fair price, and thoughtful attention to detail made this a great little stop on our cycling trip around Provence. Better than other two-star places I've stayed in.
