La Maison d'Ogooué B&B

My host canceled a reservation I'd made two months earlier so they could accept a longer stay. I was left scrambling with no solution just 12 days before Christmas. Bravo. I'll take my business elsewhere.

My colleagues arrived to find their rooms unclean, so I had to move them somewhere else in a hurry. When I called to raise the issue, the woman on the phone wouldn't listen and refused a refund. She also called me racist, which is completely false. I have relatives of color, and that accusation had nothing to do with the cleanliness problem. I still don't understand why she said it. The way she handled the call was deeply unprofessional. She put the phone down away from herself and hung up without hearing me out. She took no responsibility, which I find unacceptable. My colleagues also said the receptionist was unpleasant and had argued with Italian guests, who then left and found somewhere else to stay. I'm keeping a copy of this review and will repost it if it gets removed for not promoting the establishment.

We had a lovely stay in this peaceful little house, which has so much charm. Breakfast on the terrace was generous and excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. Our hostess was so kind and attentive, and made the stay memorable. Highly recommended!

The neighborhood is so quiet, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is generous, too. We were welcomed warmly by a charming, very friendly hostess.
