Residhome Carrières La Défense

The pool was the main reason I booked, and my children were looking forward to using it. It wasn’t working during our stay, apparently for a long time, but nobody warned me beforehand and I still paid the full price. I’m really gutted. They should tell guests who’ve booked or offer some kind of discount. The family room also wasn’t as nice as it looked in the official photos, though the hotel itself is nice enough. One thing to watch if you’re taking public transport: the hotel is in Zone 4, so you need a ticket covering zones 1-5. I bought one for zones 1-3 by mistake and couldn’t get out of the train station properly.

It’s in a generally quiet area, close to the Carrière center, and the pool is large. The hotel is clean and classy. I’d recommend it for a short vacation. I took a picture so you can see the view, with the Eiffel Tower in the distance.

Breakfast was a mess. The selection is usually just ham, salami, two kinds of cheese, and croissants, and even those limited options can run out. At 8:00 AM, ham and salami were already gone, apparently because a big group threw off the kitchen’s “strategy.” I wonder if they knew the group was coming or if it caught them by surprise. The rooms are clean, spacious, and okay, and the staff are kind and ready to help.

The bathroom cleaning could be better. Breakfast is very basic, but probably sufficient, just OK. You have to pay upfront. I haven’t tried the pool yet, and I’m not sure I want to.
