Really good food, and the rooms are comfortable. They have outside blinds and are very quiet. A good place to stop for a night, or stay longer while touring the area. I found it nicer than hotels in the cities and towns.

The garden is lovely and relaxing, and the terrace, dressed with flowers, is a great spot for dinner. The wine list is huge, with choices for different budgets, and the hostess is happy to help match a bottle with your meal. It’s a friendly, nice hotel for a few days of rest or a break on the way south or north. Better than having to stop in expensive Switzerland as an EU citizen. The rooms at the back are on the small side, but they’re quieter because there’s less road noise. At breakfast a waitress serves the coffee, though a self-serve machine might give her more time to keep an eye on the room. Pancakes were refilled slowly and had gone cold.

We visited in May 2013 and stayed as well as ate here. The restaurant was fantastic, with French cooking at its best. Outside, there was a lovely Chinese garden with a little bridge and a koi pond.

The food was excellent, and there’s an extensive wine list. The surroundings deserve a star too, but the service didn’t live up to the level they seem to expect. We waited far too long, which was completely unacceptable, and the owner didn’t even apologize. Unprofessional. This was my first visit to the restaurant and my last.
