29-08-2024. I was really looking forward to trying La Taverne after finding it on Google Maps. I couldn't find a website, but Maps said it was open for lunch, so I arrived at 12 and found it shut. Gutted. I can't really review the restaurant since I never got to eat there. The classic cuisine style sounded appealing, since so much cooking these days seems to be “modern.” I've always wanted to learn classical French cuisine. Maybe in another life I'll become the next Carême or Escoffier. Please read this and don't take the one star as an indicator, it was just the only way I could comment.

The dessert selection was excellent. The food was nicely presented and tasty, with some interesting combinations, and the service was friendly too.

The prices felt out of place for the area and weren't justified, even though the food was excellent and the service friendly.
