Prau Saint Jacques

Julie and her husband gave us a warm, friendly welcome and can point you toward the best places in town. The place is charming and peaceful, right in the center of Castres, just steps from the market and close to all the shops. We’d be happy to come back.

We found it very convenient for visiting Castres, and the thoughtful layout and decor made the stay pleasant. The owner was friendly and offered to have everything needed for breakfast ready in advance, so we could eat whenever we wanted. The bedrooms and shared areas are beautiful, nicely decorated, and comfortable. In winter, the wood-burning stove makes the place warm and cozy. The kitchen is spacious, attractive, and very well equipped. There’s a toilet downstairs by the laundry area, and each upstairs bedroom has its own comfortable, functional bathroom.

The very friendly owner brought us fresh bread and croissants for a great breakfast. It’s quiet and close to restaurants, and you can explore Castres city center on foot. A pleasant place where you don’t feel like you’re in the city.
