ibis budget Cavaillon

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, from reception to the cleaning team. A big thank you to all of them. The breakfast buffet had enough of the items offered for a budget hotel, and the gated parking in the hotel grounds was handy. Cavaillon town center is about a 10-minute walk away. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with most of what you'd need. There was no tea-making setup or hair dryer, but that's understandable for a budget hotel. The only real downside was that renovations were happening on the ground floor during our stay. The wet paint smell was pretty strong, though it shouldn't put people off booking later.

My young son and I were put in a room with a leak and a lot of mold (see picture). When I told the front desk, they didn't offer us another room. Management also refused to give either a full or partial refund after I brought it to their attention.

The good parts are the receptionist, who is very sweet, the adorable cat, and a decent breakfast. It's also an easy ten-minute walk from the train station. But the room was a real problem. The beds gave all of us back pain after just one night. The walls are thin, towels tiny, sockets badly placed, and the whole room smells like smoke. There's just one chair for three people, and the heater is coming off the wall. Stay away unless you can't afford anything else, and even then maybe spend your holiday somewhere different.

I've stayed in more Ibis hotels than I can count, and this is one of the nicer ones. I was surprised it was a budget hotel, since it felt better than the regular Ibis places on this trip. The mattress and bathroom were the only things that really seemed budget, though neither was bad. The air conditioning was super cold, there's plenty of parking and a nice outdoor area, and the location next to Carrefour is convenient. There are even a couple of resident cats.
