Hôtel La Calanque

We climbed down the rocks to reach the small private beach and wade in the water below the hotel. The views were stunning, and the setting was so beautiful that I'm surprised we paid as little as we did. One of the best stays of my life. Thanks for having us.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with loads of choice and a lovely spot overlooking the sea. We also enjoyed swimming in the sea and relaxing by the pool, where there were plenty of loungers. The hotel is tucked away somewhere peaceful, yet the town's shops and restaurants are just a short walk away. Our room was spacious and well equipped, the views were beautiful, and the staff were lovely. We’d happily recommend it.

The location is wonderfully quiet, with handy off-street parking and only about an eight-minute walk into town. The hotel itself feels like an engineering feat, perched on rocks above the ocean, and the public areas have stunning views. I booked a standard room and was upgraded to a newer one. It was nice, and the bed was comfortable, though the pillows were a bit hard. For a small hotel, breakfast had a good selection, but the attendant seemed reluctant to refill the cereal and cakes once they ran out. I was disappointed that neither the standard nor the upgraded room had a sea view. There was only one small complimentary bottle of water, and no moisturizer or shower caps, so the stay didn’t feel like much for the money. The lift seemed old and unreliable, and all the whole fruit at breakfast was past its best.
