Le Domaine du Grand Luberon

The place has a lovely green, peaceful setting, and we had a wonderful week here with our cycling group. Our room was clean and roomy, with a comfortable bed. Meals were good and had plenty of variety, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. I’d happily recommend this holiday village.

The pool and wellness area are lovely, though booking the spa could be handled better. Our room was very spacious, but the housekeeping felt superficial. The grounds need more care, and the entertainment was clearly below par, with an entertainer who seemed pretty unmotivated. The food was bad: reheated prepared dishes, and it stayed cold throughout our stay. One or two employees were competent, but the manager was completely incompetent. It’s a shame, since the hotel is well located in a lovely setting. It really needs proper maintenance.

The management is very cool. For individual guests, though, there are no daytime activities, guided hikes included, and the booking center doesn't tell you that when you make a reservation. The hammam wasn't open every day, and neither was the jacuzzi.

The pool and restaurant terrace are very nice, and the apartments are functional and quiet. There's no air conditioning, but there is a TV. The staff are friendly and do what they can. The structure itself is nice, but the whole VTF feels defined by a budget-conscious approach, which is a shame. The food was disappointing. Meal hours are very inflexible, which is understandable if there aren't enough staff. You won't go hungry, but you won't enjoy the meals either: the buffet barely varies from day to day, and the reheated vegetable boxes were tasty. The burger meal was the low point, with steaks cooked perfectly and then reheated on the griddle. Chef, go back to hotel school and learn the basics. Activities were another problem. The children's activity leaders do what they can, but don't expect outdoor outings with canoes or anything else. For adults, there were two mediocre organized hikes. You can easily do them yourself for the same price and at more reasonable times. There are no partnerships for discounts and no flyers about activities, so you'll be on your own. Management was completely absent and unemployed. Like many customers, we'll report this establishment to our works council to get it removed from the menu.
