The pool and the separate shaded terrace were a lovely part of the stay, and the local bar was only a few minutes away on foot. It had a nice mix of locals and visitors, and we enjoyed a few warm summer evenings there. My parents spent four nights at Château Marcel while visiting us nearby and had a great time. Their room was comfortable, clean, thoughtfully designed, and had everything they needed, including free wine and coffee. The host was welcoming and always glad to help.

We were looking forward to a lazy day by the pool, but on our last day the hosts were entertaining friends or family who occupied most of the outdoor space. It was hard to use the pool and other facilities, and we felt we couldn't relax there. That was frustrating, and we wouldn't stay again for that reason. There was a lot to like otherwise: the hosts were hospitable, and the property was clean and well equipped.

Conny and Rene were incredible hosts, and I’d thoroughly recommend a stay with them. The beautiful chateau is in the scenic village of cesseras, with lovely countryside around it and plenty of interesting places an easy drive away.

Set in the heart of the small, authentic french village of cesseras, Chateau Marcel is a delightful building and the hosts are wonderful. The apartments blend historic character with modern convenience and are laid out really well. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the region, you won’t regret choosing it.
